TransPerth runs a very efficient and convenient public transport within the city and the suburbs. Passengers can hop from the many busses, trains or ferries on a single ticket. There are also free bus services available in the central business area (CAT). They can be boarded at specific bus stops with the CAT sign.

Journey information, timetables and fare information are obtained at service booths, train stations and bus stations.

Taxi

There are taxi ranks at all major buildings and shopping malls. Taxis can also be hailed from the street.

Bike

Cycling is a popular and safe way to get around as there are designated cycle routes.

Ferry Service

A daily ferry service operates in Perth connecting the Perth Esplanade with the South Perth foreshore on the opposite side of the Swan River. The 7-minute journey takes you between the Barrack Street Jetty on Riverside Drive and the Mends Street jetty on the South Perth Esplanade.

Tickets are available from vending machines on both jetties. Ferry services begin at approximately 7:30am on weekdays and 8:00am on weekends and continue throughout the day until approximately 7:20pm. Ferries depart approximately every 30 minutes throughout the day.

Train

There are 5 train lines that service the city of Perth and the surrounding suburbs. Train information, fares and timetables are available online and at the station service desks.
