Becaks

A becak is a tricycle, which is pedalled by a man where one or two passengers sit in front. This transport has been around for 40 years, but is slowly disappearing. Agree on the fare with the driver before he begins the journey.

Buses

Economy and very limited air-conditioned buses run in the cities. The services serve an extensive network that also goes to the rural areas.

Car Rental

An international driving license is required to drive a car and driving is on the left. It is advisable to rent a car from a registered company. Roads and traffic can be very congested in the cities.

Taxis

Taxis are run by meters and fares are relatively cheap. For long distance trips, fares can be negotiated as per hourly rate.
