Buses
- General: The bus transport infrastructure includes 8 well-attended bus stations, over 1,350 bus stops, 153 wayside passenger shelters and point timetables at 350 busy bus stops. The bus routes span the whole length and breadth of 3,885 square kilometres area of the Emirate of Dubai.
- Operating hours: They operate from around 6:00 a.m. – 11:00 p.m., depending on the line.
- Average charge: Fares are run between Dhs 1 – 3. Fare cards can be purchased with prepaid amounts.
Car Rental
- General: There are many car rental agencies available throughout the city offering day weekly and monthly rentals. Chauffeur services are available. Driving license qualifications and requirements can be obtained from the rental agencies.
Motorized Dhow
- Operating hours: 10:00 a.m. – 10:00 p.m.
- Average charge: 50 fils: Dhs 30 per hour.
Taxis
- General: Taxis are abundant on the streets and are a very comfortable way to get around the city. There are 4 main taxi companies with a fixed fare structure.
- Operating hours: 24-hours.
- Average charge: Starting fares of 3 AED are charged with final fare calculated by the distance travelled.
Traditional Abra
- Operating hours: 10:00 a.m. – 10:00 p.m.
- Average charge: Dhs 1 to cross the creek : Pleasure trips are Dhs 50 per hour
Water Taxi (The Abra)
General: The Abra is a traditional means of water transport across the creek linking Deira and Bur Dubai districts. There are two types of Abra – the traditional abra, which are rowed and the motorized dhow, which carry up to 20 passangers.
