Buses

Bus services are available from the airport and the cities. The local bus network operates services to the rest of the city.

Car Rental

Several car companies are available for rental with an option of with a chauffeur or without.

Cyclos

A cheap transport that allows you to sit back and enjoy the sightseeing. Agree on the fare before starting the journey but it is safer to go anywhere by a taxi at night.

Motorcycle Taxis

The best choice when you are in a hurry. You can also rent motorcycles for US$5 – US$10.

Rail

The main services run between Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang and Nha Trang. Tickets have to be purchased in advance. Hanoi Railway Station is situated at the intersection of Le Duan St. and Tran Hung Dao St.

Taxis

It is advisable to take a licenced taxi as illegal ones will be stopped by the police and apart from the long waiting time, you will have to foot the fine too. Taxis can be booked by phone or you can just hailed them on the streets.
